Plain Dealing High School Proudly Welcomes Coach Chris Jarboe as New Head Varsity Baseball Coach

Plain Dealing, LA – Plain Dealing High School is proud to announce the appointment of Coach Chris Jarboe as the new Head Varsity Baseball Coach. With more than three decades of coaching and teaching experience across multiple sports and states, Coach Jarboe brings a proven record of building competitive programs and mentoring student-athletes to excel both on the field and in life.
Throughout his distinguished career, Coach Jarboe has served as a Head Varsity Baseball Coach, Assistant Varsity Football Coach, and Wrestling Coach. While at Columbia High School in Nampa, Idaho, he contributed to four wrestling state championships and a Top-25 national ranking. As Head Varsity Softball Coach at Oakton High School in Vienna, Virginia, his teams amassed an impressive 115–57 record over eight seasons, earning multiple district and regional titles and a State Runner-Up finish.
Coach Jarboe’s coaching philosophy centers on discipline, fundamentals, and a genuine joy for the game. He is passionate about building a culture rooted in gratitude, respect, and resilience, helping athletes grow into strong young men prepared for the challenges ahead.
“I am honored to join Plain Dealing High School and lead the baseball program,” said Coach Jarboe. “This is an incredible opportunity to work with talented student-athletes and a committed community. My goal is to build a program that competes with intensity, grows through adversity, and celebrates the journey together. We’re going to work hard, have fun, and make Lion Nation proud.”
Athletic Director Jerry Byrd shared his excitement about the new addition to the coaching staff. “Coach Jarboe has a tremendous track record of developing programs that are both successful and grounded in character. His experience and vision will be a catalyst for growth, not just in baseball, but in our entire athletic department. We are thrilled to welcome him to the Lion family.”
Principal Jason Edwards emphasized the strong future ahead for the program. “We are excited to welcome Coach Jarboe to Plain Dealing High School,” Edwards said. “He brings a wealth of experience and a clear passion for developing young people. His commitment to creating a positive, growth-minded culture will inspire our athletes and strengthen our school community. I’m confident our baseball program will thrive under his leadership.”
Plain Dealing High School is committed to providing students with enriching experiences that foster academic achievement, athletic excellence, and personal development.
