Cowboy Connection for the Week of Sept. 28
Our library is very excited about our Fall Book Fair along with our Goodies with Grandparents. Please note any adult can attend the book fair with your child; it does not have to be a grandparent. If you have questions, please email Molly.Bridges@BossierSchools.org.
Crab Soccer will be in full swing on Monday and Tuesday. If you have questions, please email Brandon.Collins@BossierSchools.org.
We will have a snack sale on Friday. Students who owe fees will not be allowed to purchase snacks.
This Friday wraps up our Attendance Awareness Month! Our students AND teacher were present and ready this month! Friday students who were present all day everyday this week will be allowed to wear neon/bright clothing.

This will be our last full week for our fundraiser! Please make sure students are turning in their coupons as they sell their items. This enters them in a drawing each day!
After School Crab Soccer begins this week. If you are planning to watch your child please park in a parking spot. We cannot have cars parked along the curb. All parents must pick up students by 3:50. Monday will be the Eagles vs Cowboys and Tuesday will be Tigers vs Saints. Reach out to Coach Collins for more information.
Our Sparkle Club will meet after school on Tuesday. Please reach out to Mrs. Long for more information.
Friday is another fun filled day. We will have our snack sale, yearbook pictures, and attendance awareness prize!
Snack forms will be sent home early in the early. Please return them as soon as possible.
Yearbook pictures will be taken during the school day. Students must wear their Platt uniform. A QR code will be sent home with your child on Friday. Scan that code and it will alert you when the pictures are ready. You do not need to send money for pictures.

WOW Parents! September is a month packed with fun and events! We hope the students are enjoying all the fun, but we do want to remind parents that our dress up days are not required. We are trying to keep most of our dress up days simple and centered around things you have already have so we can take that stress off of you. If you like to plan ahead please make sure you are visiting our Platt calendar on our app or the Cowboy Playbook linked on our social media.

Thursday is the HHS Homecoming parade! We hope to see you there. Platt will have some teachers and administration in the parade. To help our Haughton community celebrate homecoming, students are encouraged to wear a Haughton BUCS shirt with uniform bottoms, a Haughton BUCS jersey with uniform bottoms, or a Haughton Bucs Cheer uniform. This is in support of Haughton High School Bucs.
Streetcar Station Snowballs will be on campus on Friday. All money was due 9/11. Students who preordered will get their treat on Friday.

They may wear a camo shirt, a camo jacket, or camo pants. Please no hats. If students are not wearing camo pants, they need to wear uniform bottoms.

Wednesday, September 9 students will be allowed to wear their brightest yellow or gold shirt to support Louisiana Pediatric Cancer Awareness Day. Students must wear uniform bottoms.
This is our second week in our Attendance Awareness month. All students who are at school ALL day EVERY day this week will be allowed to wear a patriotic shirt, a red shirt, a white shirt, or a blue shirt with uniform bottoms on Friday as we "Pledge to be Present".

Friday is the first football game for Haughton High School. We want to support our community school by sporting our favorite Haughton shirts, jerseys, or cheer uniform. This is for Haughton gear only. Students must wear their uniform bottoms with their shirts and jerseys.
Friday will also be our first Snack Sale! This money supports the Platt Hospitality. An order form will come home this week with your child. If you want to order, please complete the form and turn it.

Don't forget Tuesday is our Haughton Community Spirit Day! Platt Cowboys are allowed to wear a Haughton spirit shirt, Haughton jersey, or Bossier Parks Jersey to school with uniform bottoms on Tuesday. Haughton cheer uniforms are accepted as well.

Platt is excited about the Haughton Community Spirit Day! Platt students may wear a Haughton shirt/jersey, Haughton cheer uniform, or a Bossier Parks jersey. Please no helmets, pad, etc.
Your child's attendance each day is very valuable to their education. Our POP Team (Power of Presence) is excited about the different events we are planning for rewards for being at school. We also understand that there are times you child will miss school.
We want to provide you with an update to our Attendance Policy. Platt will now be able to accept a parent note submitted for your child's absence. Parents may submit a parent note on the official template for an absence to be approved. The official note is located on our school website or in our front office. Notes must be submitted within 5 days after the student returns to school. Notes after 5 days will remain unexcused. A maximum of 5 days per academic year can be excused with parent notes. Parent notes cannot be split into partial days. Any note submitted for an early dismissal or late check-in counts as a full day towards the 5 day annual limit.
